In a few days it’s been four years since a right-wing terrorist bombed Oslo (killing 8 people) and killed 69 people (most of them teenagers or in their early twenties) on Utøya.. Today a major Norwegian newspaper wrote a short story about a memorial for those who died (In Norwegian: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ), and I started crying.. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to not cry or feel sick when I read about what this guy did.
I usually think like Barney Stinson; “When I get sad I stop being sad and be awesome instead.”.. but sometimes it’s OK to be sad.
Norwegian singer Maria Mena did a cover of the song Mitt lille land (My small country) by Ole Paus shortly after the attack. The lyrics are in Norwegian so you won’t understand them I guess.. but I just have to share this with someone..
I promise I’ll be back to the normal Laird in a few hours though.

I think it is okay to be sad for your country men in this instance.

I think so, I had some friends who were at Utøya when it happened, I think I’ll call them now.

It's a shame that people rationalize such madness.

The worst part is that there are people here in Norway who think he did the right thing, and actually applaud him.. They think that socialism should be abolished because it destroys Norway and the Norwegian heritage.
But enough about that. I’ll raise my glass in memory of those who died.
